Yellow Jackets News · MHS Making Preparations for Restart of Athletics

The COVID-19 pandemic has put many of our normal activities on hold since the middle of March.  On Monday, July 6th, SES will resume sports in the form of conditioning and sports-specific activities.  All of these activities are strictly voluntary and will resume in three different phases from July 6 to August 15 to help ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.
In order to participate, an athlete must have all required paperwork on file with the Athletic Department.  If you are a returning athlete from last year, you do not need an athletic physical.  The IHSAA, with advice from Sports Medicine experts, have granted a 1-year extension on all 2019-2020 Athletic Physicals.  However, there are two other forms you must complete and have on file,  The two forms are:
If you did not play sports last year, we would love for you to join a team this year.  If you did not play last year, but plan on playing a sport this year, you will also need to submit a 2020-21 IHSAA Physical Form and Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Signature Form.
The Concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Signature Form will need to be updated for all student-athletes prior to the first official day of practice for the sport(s) that a student-athlete is involved in.
As an added measure of health and safety, all students and personnel will be asked to do an easy 7 question Health Screen each day prior to coming to school or an activity.  You do not need to start using this link until July 6th if you will be participating in summer workouts, or August 5th if you are not planning on participating in summer workouts. To access the Health Screen, click on the following link.
All of the necessary forms are available here on the website and will also be available on the MHS Athletics Facebook and Twitter pages.  An email will also be sent to all parents and athletes as well.  If you have any questions about the forms, or athletics in general, please do not hesitate to contact me.  You can send emails to bgraham@ses.k12.in.us
Everyone is excited about our return to school and athletics at Morristown Jr./Sr. High School.  All of us at school want to work with you to help everyone have great experiences inside and outside of the classroom.  By all of us working together we can help your student(s) be successful. Please share this information with others.
